For our New C5 Helmet Camera Customers. A quick start guide
We want to make getting to know and using the Innovv C5 Helmet Camera system as easy and enjoyable as possible. We suggest that you follow this quick start guide and take a look at the brief overview video.
Please Pay Particular Attention To
Point 1 – Choose Your SD Card
1. Choose your SD Card
Choose your SD Card carefully. Please purchase a quality and branded SD card that is suitable for use in a dashcamera, to ensure you have no problems. Min of 80mbs class 10 is required. We recommend Integral Cards available in our shop as these are tried and tested. The C5 will take up to a 128gb card. You can expect appx the hours on chart below for each size card.
We suggest not using Sandisk SD card for the Innovv camera systems.
1. It is not suitable for loop dashcam video recording.
2. Sandisk warranty does not cover using for Dashcam use.
Please see below statement from Sandisk.
Sandisk warranty does not cover use of the Product in connection with the following uses or devices (as determined by SanDisk): (i) normal wear and tear, (ii) video monitoring, security, and surveillance devices, (iii) internet protocol/network cameras, (iv) in-car recording devices/dashboard cameras/black box cameras.
2. Get the Innovv C5 App
Download the Innovv C5 App to your mobile device, iPad or tablet. Available from App Store or Google Play. You can search INNOVV K2 or use QR Scanner.

3. Install the SD Card
The SD Card will only fit one way up, never force the SD card, just flip it over if it doesn’t easily go into the slot
4. Powering the DVR
The Innovv C5 Helmet Camera is powered via standard USB which means that you decide your powerbank size/hours required rather than being limited by a fitted battery as with all other cameras.
The chart below is guide on how many hours the different size of powerbanks will provide. The C5 DVR draws 1050mah per hour.
If your preference is to connect via your bikes USB then we have thought of that, we suggest you select the 1.8mtr version so you have enough cable to acheive this. Of course this will give you infinate recording time.
If you don’t already have a USB port on your motorbike then no problem just select this when placing your order
5. Connect to C5 App
Now to get your DVR connected to your mobile device via WiFi. The green light will be steadily flashing. Go to the settings on you’re your mobile device, select the Innovv C5 wifi and insert the code 12345678. Your mobile device will now be connected to the Innovv DVR and you will get a solid green light.
If you have any issues with connection to the Innovv C5 Wifi please see below
iOS – Place you mobile device on Airplane/Flight mode and try again
6. SD Card Formatting
No matter what size sd card you are using we suggest that you format the card in the DVR via the C5 App. This will ensure that the DVR and your card are fully synchronised. Once the format is complete you will have a steady flashing red light which means it is recording.
7. Personalise the Settings
Select the Innovv C5 WiFi App that you have downloaded to your mobile device and you will be able to look/change settings review recordings etc. Please see the ‘Get to know your Innovv App’ below for a full tutorial on how it all works. With the C5 Helmet Camera edition we suggest that you switch the G Sensor function OFF as movement will create to many lock down files.
By now you should pretty much be up to speed with the basics of the camera set up and how to use..So all that’s left to do is fully set up the C5 System on your lid.
8. Fitting to the Helmet - Hints and Tips
Now its time to fit the C5 system to your helmet. The fitting is pretty straight forward, just a few hints and tips below. Please read through or watch the tutorial video below
Positioning Lens – Decide upon your preffered location where you would like to locate your lens.. in the UK its generally on the right hand side of your helmet
Lens Angle – Before fully securing the go pro mount to your helmet ensure that you have it set for best field of view. The lens has a 120 degree angle so try to pick the best location to ensure a full field of view. The ‘live’ option on the App is a great tool as you can see live what the lens is seeing and help you fine tune before sticking down.
Securing Lens – Secure the Lens well. Vibration will effect video quality. When placing the lens into the plastic C holder push the lens into front of the holder and not down and over stretch it. BE CAREFUL NOT TO APPLY ANY PRESSURE DIRECTLY ON TO THE LENS GLASS.
Sticking Go Pro Mount to the Helmet – Of course you need everything to be secure. When sticking the 3m pad, give the surface area a good clean with an alcohol cleaner or wipe. Firmly press on the curved mount but leave for 6 hours before using.
Orientation of Go Pro Mount – Please refer to photo’s on tech spec page for the correct orientation of the Go Pro mount, so its fitted in correct way to succesfully mount the C5 Lens. We suggest that you have the push clip at the bottom so that you have to push it up to remove.
Removing Lens after Ride – We have designed the plastic lens holder to be very snug in order to secure the lens well. When removing the lens from your helmet after your ride the easiest and quickest method is to release the go pro clip from the curved mount.
