2 different length USB cable lengths are provided in the set. 0.15Mtr for use with a Powerbank and the 1.0mtr version for connection to your bikes USB.

6. SD Card Guide and Formatting

Maximum of 256gb micro sd card can be used in the Innovv camera range. A Class 10 Minimum 80mb/s U3 is advised. Please be sure to use a reputable branded card as often cheap/fake cards will potentially not operate with your camera and cause problems.

Innovv cameras require the SD card to be in Fat32 format. This is the standard format for 32gb cards or below, so these will operate straight away. 64gb to 256gb cards are generally in Exfat format and will require reformatting to Fat32. But don’t worry this is a simple process.

– Insert the SD card into your DVR and power up (ensuring lens/lenses are connected)

– Connect you mobile device via Wifi to the DVR

– Access Innovv App

– Select Settings(Center Cog icon). At these stage you will generally be prompted that card is in incorrect format and asked if you would like to reformat. Select yes. If you are not prompted continue to settings page and select format SD card toward bottom of the page

Once completed the reformat please exit the App, forget the Innovv Wifi connection in mobile settings. Reconnect again and enter the App and you should be good to go and the unit will be recording

Looking after your SD Card.

SD cards do have a limited shelf life based upon the number of hours in total are recorded over time. Quality of cards do vary a lot. It is good practice for the health of your sd card to reformat (via App) on a regular basis. Also generally speaking the larger SD cards do last a lot longer as they store a lot more video data, so therefore do not loop/overwrite as regularly as the smaller cards.

7. Personalise the Settings

Select the Innovv C5 WiFi App that you have downloaded to your mobile device and you will be able to look/change settings review recordings etc. Please see the ‘Get to know your Innovv App’ below for a full tutorial on how it all works. With the C5 Helmet Camera edition we suggest that you switch the G Sensor function OFF as movement will create to many lock down files.

By now you should pretty much be up to speed with the basics of the camera set up and how to use..So all that’s left to do is fully set up the C5 System on your lid.

8. Fitting to the Helmet - Hints and Tips

Now its time to fit the C5 system to your helmet. The fitting is pretty straight forward, just a few hints and tips below. Please read through or watch the tutorial video below

Positioning Lens – Decide upon your preffered location where you would like to locate your lens.. in the UK its generally on the right hand side of your helmet

Lens Angle – Before fully securing the go pro mount to your helmet ensure that you have it set for best field of view. The lens has a 120 degree angle so try to pick the best location to ensure a full field of view. The ‘live’ option on the App is a great tool as you can see live what the lens is seeing and help you fine tune before sticking down.

Securing Lens – Secure the Lens well. Vibration will effect video quality. When placing the lens into the plastic C holder push the lens into front of the holder and not down and over stretch it. BE CAREFUL NOT TO APPLY ANY PRESSURE DIRECTLY ON TO THE LENS GLASS.

Sticking Go Pro Mount to the Helmet – Of course you need everything to be secure. When sticking the 3m pad, give the surface area a good clean with an alcohol cleaner or wipe. Firmly press on the curved mount but leave for 6 hours before using.

Orientation of Go Pro Mount – Please refer to photo’s on tech spec page for the correct orientation of the Go Pro mount, so its fitted in correct way to succesfully mount the C5 Lens. We suggest that you have the push clip at the bottom so that you have to push it up to remove.

Removing Lens after Ride – We have designed the plastic lens holder to be very snug in order to secure the lens well. When removing the lens from your helmet after your ride the easiest and quickest method is to release the go pro clip from the curved mount.

9. Playing/Downloading Your Video

Now for the fun part, watching your video. There are 2 ways in which to review your video content

1 – Via the Innovv Wifi App on your Mobile Device

Select documents on the App home page you then have 2 choices ‘ Files in Camera’ and ‘Files in device’

Files in Camera – Once selected you will see a preview list of all files currently saved on the SD card that’s inserted into the DVR. Select the file required and you can either delete, stream online or save. To stream on line you need to maintain the wifi connection with the DVR to watch the video. If you want to save your video and watch at a later time away from your bike select save. See below

Files in Device – Once you have saved the video file this is where you can review/watch the video without being connected to the Innovv Wifi. Video saved to here will not be over written by the DVR if set to loop record.

2 – Review Video on your Computer

Remove the Micro SD Card from your DVR, place into the SD Card Adapter and insert in to your computer or laptop. Open the external/flash drive that should auto populate and select the video file. You will need a media player installed on your computer that will play TS files. Note – the majority of computers will have a compatible media player already installed.

The C5 camera records using TS file format

Why do we use TS files and what media players that we advise and use ourselves..

Why we selected TS files over standard MP4 files etc
The primary function of the Innovv camera system is as a safety camera, so capturing all video/evidence is critical, especially in the event of an incident/impact. With video files such as MP4 if the power to the DVR/Camera is cut/lost the current file that is being recorded is corrupted. Of course if a bad accident occurred and the power to the camera was lost, the current video file when using MP4 etc would potentially be corrupted. As the primary reason for the camera is safety, it is critical that video of the incident is protected and stored. TS file format is more robust and in the event of power loss critical evidence/recording is maintained..
Suggested Media Players for TS Video File(All have free versions)
– VLC (Mac/Windows) – https://www.videolan.org/vlc/
– QuicTime (Mac/Windows) – https://quicktime.en.softonic.com/
 Cisdem (Mac Only) –  https://www.cisdem.com/
Please note that TS files can easily changed to MP4 format, there are many options available, please search on Google the best solution for you

10. Managing Video Files

Managing the files on your Micro SD Card is important to its health and will increase the life of the Micro SD Card plus ensuring the C5 DVR functions 100%

G Sensor – Switch this Function OFF

The G Sensor function is not required when using the C5 helmet edition camera. Movement of your head will create all files to be locked which will become frustrating

Managing video files Via the WiFi App.

Video files will appear as a normal thumbnail (Documents/Files in Camera).

Video files can be deleted or saved within the App.

Managing Video Files Via your Computer.

When the SD card is placed into your computer and opened you will see the Video Folder. All video files will be located in this Video folder and can be saved or deleted as required.

 G Sensor

If the G Sensor is left on the you will create locked down files and you will notice some if not all of your video files appearing in the EMR folder. Video files in the EMR folder are not over written when the camera loops and will quite quickly fill the SD card and the camera will not function. Ensure that the G Sensor is turned off, delete the EMR folder (save the required video first) and all video files will be located in standard video folder and you are good to go without a problem

 IMPORTANT.

Performing a regular Re Format of your SD card will maintain its health, extending its life at the same time as ensuring the smooth running of your Innovv Camera System

11. Loop Recording Explained

Loop recording is a great feature for a safety camera. When selected the camera will loop record around the sd card so no need to manage video files. Fit and Forget

You will have the option of 1, 3, 5 and 10 min segments. When your SD card is full it will start to overwrite the oldest video segments first.

As an example if you are using 128gb micro sd card and you have selected 3 min segments, you will always have the last 19 hours stored on the card, segmented into 3 minute files.

If you turn loop record off, the camera will not operate once the card is full. Please note that when it is off video files are segmented into 15 minute files.

12. Forgotten Password

Easily done..

To reset the password you will need to complete a firmware update. Full step by step guide can be found on this Tech Support page. Once completed the password will be reset back to 12345678

13. Remember the User Guide
